Chroma key is an audiovisual technique used mainly in cinema and photography that consists of extracting a colored background (usually green or blue) and replacing it with an image. In the «Croma» series, the operation is reversed, eliminating the image (figuration) of a painting and replacing it with color planes (background) extracted from the work itself.
