Moving gently, the actor Ruben Yáñez listens to the recording of the 1983 Obelisk proclamation with invisible headphones, just as he had listened to it on the radio twenty-nine years earlier from his exile in Spain. Silenced for those watching, the phrases of his colleague Alberto Candeau leave him alone on the screen, while he "comments" the speech with minimal gestures and expressions.
Like the "feet" in a theatrical text, these trigger words allow those present to re-act today at that historical moment. The political act, reformulated through a select dictionary and a score of ovations, highlights, in a new light, its heartbreaking urgency.
